OOC PERMISSIONS

Player: Dubs

Preferred Contact: [plurk.com profile] dubbins

Usual tagging times/pace: sporadically, usually in bursts in the early-late evening

Backtagging: yes

Fourthwalling policy: Go for it! Let him know he's a meme. Can't promise he'll actually care though.

Action vs. Prose: prefer action, but fine with prose.

Offensive Subjects & Triggers: can't think of any

IC PERMISSIONS

Physical Violence: go for it! Illidan is a scrapper and will probably pick a few fights. Just do note he's ridiculously over powered

Mental Information: Your character's mental state. What are you comfortable threading out with telepath and empath characters?

Physical Affection: OOC sure, fine try it. IC he will not like it and probably smack people off in a less-than-gentle manner.

IC Triggers: His imprisonment for ten thousand years can be a VERY touchy subject if he has to talk about it beyond "It happened and here's why". Feel free to bring it up and question him about it, but too much prodding and he'll get agitated. If they just ask why they're safe though... they'll just get a huuuge rant.

Relationships: it would be hilarious to have people flirt with him or have a one-sided crush (because WHY would you EVER?), but he's hung up on Tyrande and has been for some ten thousand years. Don't see that changing anytime soon.

Are you interested in participating in the game's smut opt-ins? For Illidan nnnnnoooooooo. He's kinda gross, lbr.

POWER-SPECIFIC AND/OR SPOILER PERMISSIONS

Illidan can't quite see in the traditional sense, one of his many poor life choices was having his eyes zapped out and replaced with super magic-detecting eyes. What this means is- if it has no magic, he can't see it. It's never quite made clear if this would translate to other canons forms of energy or not, so I'm going to leave it open-ended. I will usually assume he can to some degree, unless the person is mechanical, but sometimes the foreign magic is too strange for him to translate well. (Basically leaving it at "he can see you but a little worse than normal people can").

Would Illidan be capable of seeing your characters power? If so, how much, and would he notice anything special about it? Please comment below to let me know

ALSO, he's from the most recent patch in World of Warcraft, and while I don't think he'll speak much on the most recent matters, feel free to opt out here if you want to make doubly sure I keep it off the table.

Yup! Nanoha doesn't exactly hide the fact that she's a mage, and she's a pretty powerful one!

Illidan can totally sense Jack! He's the spirit of winter, so he counts as no human, an elemental, a seasonal, related to nature, etc. Also he feels cold but you don't need powers for that. :')

William is a low level magic user and reincarnation of King Solomon, who was a powerful being magician in his own time. William doesn't have any access to that power yet, but it's should be pretty obvious that he has hidden talents.

Going through all of my characters - Phoenix Wright ([personal profile] bewrightback) is a completely ordinary human being, so no magic there.

Rock Lee ([personal profile] niceguypose) has chakra in his body, so that might count as making him seeable?

As for Jade Curtiss, he uses fonic artes, which are his world's version of magic. Perhaps it's possible that the fonons gathering around him can be seen - Jade is exceptionally potent, and he has modified his own eyes to attract extra fonons.

If you're playing fast and loose with other types of energy, Zoro's probably good to at least see shadows of. He has the use of haki, which is just strength of will, not magic and not even really spirit but he does use Observation Haki, meaning he could sense Illidan not only physically by location/proximity but feel his relative strength. So I guess Illi can pick up on that in reverse maybe? Otherwise he's totally a plain old normal human with monster-level strength.
feytality: Maya only wishes she was played by Keith David though (I'VE GOT FRIENDS ON THE OTHER SIIIIIIDE)

[personal profile] feytality 2015-07-26 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! Maya is a spirit medium, and more powerful than she gives herself credit for! Her powers are mostly channeling, but she also has spiritual sensitivity and alleged ESP.

He's welcome to sense Hiro! He has a lot of magical and spiritual power and he's also a Administrator which makes him some vague cross between heavenly deity and alien being. Canon was seriously vague on details.

Trion is a type of energy that has similar functions to magic re: special technology and abilities, so Illidan is more than free to see it.

Izumi has a prodigious amount of Trion – where most characters rate at 6 or 7, his stat is a whooping 12! There's nothing very special about it, though his control is remarkably nuanced and he's still getting stronger per natural growth.

He'd be able to see zaShunina, but he'll probably look less like a person and more something like this

he can positively "see" her! and as much as you like. by her canon, she is God, because she created the universe and everything. she split herself apart to create new gods, and so, even by the point she's taken from canon (because she's collecting them again), she isn't at her full capacity, but to top this off, she's been power nerfed in el nysa. however much you'd like to make him sense this is fine by me! her being who and what she is isn't something she actively hides, but because people have lost belief, when she performs a blatant miracle, folks often mistaken what's happened or get really confused.

i'll add on, too, that in canon, an earthbound spirit who tells her his eyes no longer work because he's dead, can see with the mind's eye, and it reveals to him what people truly look like, and then he calls her a "maiden most fair," so if you'd like him to see something like this? either straight up, obvious, light radiating maiden, or maybe a wisp of light that's constantly moving and kind of lingers and flickers in a general shape of a woman? i'm also down for that!

otherwise, if it's just a sense of things, then… well. with her affiliation to the sun, it'd be a lot of sunlight, and warmth, and flowers. the biggest sensation he'd get from her would be maternal.

Well Cole has described seeing Lavellan as being bright like trying to count birds against the sun. Probably because of the Mark. In game it's not as bright but it gives off that eerie fade glow. He'd notice the mark and you know he has magic and stuff.

mukuro is a top notch illusionist with a flair for dramatics -- so illidan will be able to see him, but he will not have a distinct "form", so to speak. it'll be like talking to a mist. he will also not be able to see how powerful mukuro is, because be hides it under a powerful illusion. if that makes sense? i hope this makes sens lol, lemme know if you want to hash things out.

[personal profile] mistify 2017-09-12 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
ahh wonderful c:

yes i'm thinking a form of mist flames, just a big angry purple-colored flame that maybe takes his shape? mukuro can do sound/smell based illusions as well, but i think that would be something he puts up once he realizes that someone can see through, as a defense mechanism. once he knows illidan is looking, he'll start pushing back.

but ahh yes, i'm down for illidan knowing about his possession ability — will illidan be able to see even if he's not using it, or only if he is?

As Stated above Pheonix Wright is just a normal human with no magical abilities. I am curious to know if he's able to read magic off of artifacts as well as people though since that would change things entirely.

Same goes for Genjo Sanzo but occasionally something may spike in him where he suddenly procures an intense amount of magical ability out of no where. He is a reincarnation of a god and, although usually normal, when in a desperate situation he can create powerful magical barriers and artifacts without even meaning to.
smithandwesson: (monk power!)

[personal profile] smithandwesson 2017-09-17 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Good to know! If that's the case Phoenix has a small artifact left to him by the mystics at the village of Kurain in his canon. It is a green magatama that sparks up when those he's talking to happen to be lying or withholding information from him. This allows him to be able to break them down in conversation with logic and evidence into revealing said information to him.

Sanzo is very much an spontaneous migraine. That is an apt description of him. But that ability only happens very rarely when he is in danger under specific circumstances. He is more likely to be noticeable whenever he gets his scripture back. That scripture is a holy artifact written by Buddha himself and contains immense power. A part of five, when combined the other scriptures they have the ability to create entire worlds from nothing. His is the Maten Sutra, which has the ability of evil and yang, when activated it turns into pretty much an aura of death around him, destroying anything he sets his sites on. Main reason why it's going to take some work for him to get it back.

Pike doesn't exactly hide that she's a Cleric. She's considered a 17th level Cleric of Sarenrae in D&D terms, able to cast 9th level spells. She also has the blessing of her goddess as well.

Fire.

Lots and lots of fire. Like NAPALM levels of fire but stuffed into a super small body I guess? Sadu's overflowing with destructive magics because Black Mages, man.
The Dotharl tribe also believe in reincarnation so there might be some residual aether doing WIERD SHIT since she's believed to be in her fourth incarnation, but I'll leave that up to you if he can spot it or not.
